Prosecco Hills Itinerary

Nature

The Strada del Prosecco e Vini dei Colli Conegliano-Valdobbiadene was the first Italian wine itinerary, born in 1966, and since 2019 it has been included in the UNESCO list.
The proposal to discover the Strada del Prosecco, with its panoramic roads and breathtaking views, is an excellent idea for those who love wine, nature and art.

Along the road, in fact, there are places of historical and artistic interest such as the Molinetto della Croda in Refrontolo, the Abbey of Follina and Castelbrando.  For those who want to relax and take a break, there are the Revine Lakes or the banks of the Piave River.

Burci's Cemetery

Nature

The Burci Cemetery is located in Casier, within the Sile River Regional Natural Park. You can reach it by following the cycle path that starts from Treviso and follows the river Sile.

The “burci” were wooden boats used for commercial transport. Due to the crisis of river transport in the 1970s, the owners of these boats decided to sink them as a form of protest. Over time, the boats slowly emerged and became a peculiarity of the place.

Caglieron's Caves

Nature

The Caglieron Caves, located at the foot of the Cansiglio plateau, are an incredible natural spectacle. This evocative environment is the result of the collaboration between nature and man.

The route leads to the mountain gorge. Through a wooden walkway you start to descend enjoying the spectacle created on the rocks by the slow and relentless passage of the Caglieron stream. This is a millennial masterpiece of the power of water on the mountain.

The Caglieron Caves are easily accessible to the whole family and admission is free.

Osteria senz'oste

Tradition

A three-storey stone and brick farmhouse, built between the vines of the Prosecco hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.

A tavern where the innkeeper supplies only the pantry, and leaves guests free to use and manage the payment independently. You can eat and drink freely, enjoying a breathtaking view. A challenge in the name of trust in others, which is renewed every day thanks to the tenacity of its creator.

Brion's Tomb

History

The Brion Tomb is a monumental funeral complex designed by Carlo Scarpa in Altivole.
The “L overturned” shaped structure has several areas, including the suggestive Meditation Pavilion, which seems suspended between air and water.

The visit is a succession of symmetries and perspectives, which reaches the most iconic symbol of the Tomb: two circles that intersect, symbolizing the romantic union between man and woman, the harmony of Ying and Yang that merge into a single soul.
The invitation to “get lost” and then find oneself and the search for oneself are constant elements of the architectural project.

Military Memorial

History

Monte Grappa was the scene of clashes both in the First and Second World War.
On the top of the Mount, there is one of the most representative places of the history of this place: the Military Shrine.
Built between 1932 and 1935 to gather in one place all the tombs and bodies that until then rested in scattered areas or in small military cemeteries built on the slopes of the mountain.

The Shrine is divided into 3 different areas: the Austro-Hungarian ossuary, the Italian ossuary and the “Via Eroica”: a 300-meter path bordered by 14 memorial stones surmounted by the names of the mountains that were sad theater of the First World War.

Ville Venete

History

In the province of Treviso, you can admire the Venetian Villas: a perfect combination of history, art and landscapes. Built around the mid-sixteenth century by the architect Andrea Palladio for the most prestigious families in the area.

Some of the most beautiful include Villa Barbaro in Maser, a UNESCO heritage site that still produces fine wines in its cellar.
Villa Tiepolo Passi a Carbonera, has become a farm that offers the opportunity to enjoy traditional cuisine in the historic residence.
Villa Albrizzi Franchetti in San Trovaso, Preganziol, hosted the writer Ugo Foscolo, who found inspiration for his literary work “Dei Sepolcri”.
Villa Emo in Fanzolo di Vedelago that in 1996 was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Villa Rinaldi Barnini in Asolo is considered one of the most significant villas in the province. A rare example of a baroque villa of imposing dimensions.

Osteria dei Pioppi

Tradition/ entertainment

The Osteria Ai Pioppi, located in Nervesa della Battaglia, is a unique place that combines tradition, fun and creativity.
Founded in the 60s, the inn is famous for its theme park, which offers original and innovative attractions (roller coaster, slides, swings and many other attractions), built by hand and all operating exclusively through the manual force of the visitors themselves.
The rustic and cosy atmosphere of the inn adds a special touch to the experience.

But the Osteria Ai Pioppi is not limited to entertainment: the restaurant offers a wide selection of traditional dishes of Venetian cuisine, prepared with high quality local ingredients.

Tiramisù

Culinary tradition

The flavor of tiramisù is intense and full of different shades: coffee, mascarpone and biscuits blend harmoniously, creating a perfect balance between sweet and bitter. The texture is creamy and soft, very pleasant to the palate.

Born in a restaurant in Treviso, it has become a symbol of Italian cuisine in the world, where it is appreciated for its goodness and simplicity.
To taste the best tiramisu of Treviso, you can not start from Le Beccherie. Here history wins: it was the first restaurant to include it in the menu in 1972.
